Summary
Once your Treatment Groups have been set up you need to select which Codes are allocated to each Treatment group.
When dispensing treatment for an HCP Patient, only items with an HCP group assigned will receive discount.
Details
Assign a Treatment Group to a Code
- Navigate to Administration > Code Entry > Code Maintenance.
- Search and select a code.
- After selecting an item, select 'Edit'.
- Select the 'Treatment Options' configuration button.
- Assign an HCP Treatment group by selecting a group from the drop-down box.
- Select 'Save'.
EQM (Equivalent Quantity Multiplier)
This feature is used to resolve the potential issue of over prescribing drugs that are on the health care plan.
If an EQM is specified, when dispensing a HCP item, the quantity dispensed will be multiplied by the number entered into the EQM field.
For Example: If you sell out Advocate 3 x Pipettes as 1 pack, you need to ensure this deducts 3 flea allowances from the plan. To do this, input the EQM as 3 within the code entry screen. If left blank, Merlin will default it to 1 allowance
Creating Health Care Plan
Now you have created your treatment groups and assigned the relevant groups to your codes in Code Entry, you are ready to create your Health Care Plans.
